Scholarship

A traditional scholarship may typically be academically based, but The Gene Doyle Adventure Scholarship is designed to be as nontraditional and unique as was Gene himself.

Tournament

The  annual Gene Doyle Fishing Tournament emerged as a perfect fundraising event for the Gene Doyle Adventure Scholarship, where anglers target redfish, snook and trout and compete for 25 top prizes.

Foundation

Simply put, it is the goal of the Gene Doyle Memorial Foundation to keep Gene’s spirit alive by cultivating and supporting kindred spirits who share his love of life and nature.

It is official - we are canceling the 23rd Annual Gene Doyle Fishing Tournament. Please read details below:
For the second time in 23 years, a natural disaster has postponed the Gene Doyle Fishing Tournament. In 2005, it was Hurricane Wilma. For 2020 it is the Corona Virus, COVID-19. We are disappointed, but the Gene Doyle Foundation felt it was prudent to follow the directions of the Centers for Disease Control and protect our anglers, sponsors, volunteer guides and friends from exposure to a potentially deadly virus.
We’ll be back as soon as possible and the Tournament Committee is exploring the possibility of an October tournament. We’ll keep you posted on our plans. May all of you have the chance to go fishing in May even without the Tournament. If you do, let us see your catch on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/GeneDoyleFish/), Twitter (@GeneDoyleFish) or by email (RobinDoyleNaples@gmail.com).
Thank you so much for your support of the Gene Doyle Fishing Tournament. You give kids a chance to fish and send students on life-changing adventures that will help shape them in ways to lead our country and world to a better place. If you are a sponsor or angler who has already sent in your donation, let us know if you would like a refund or want to roll it over to the next tournament.
