What made you apply for the scholarship?
"I applied for the scholarship because I have always wanted to go back to Alaska and experience it first hand."

What was your favorite activity on the trip?
"My favorite activity on the trip was at the end of the day when the whole group made it back to camp and we got to sit around and listen to what the other groups did that day. It was fun, not only cause we were off our feet, but we were able to relax over a nice hot cup of coco, which was greatly valued."

Describe your best day on the trip.
"My best day...I would have to say that there were 28 good days, but the best would have to be the third day when we hiked 2 miles to the top of a pass. The sight was incredible. For miles, all you could see were snow-covered mountains. It was such a rush, kind of like we were on top of the world."

Would you do it again? Why or why not?
"In a heartbeat. It was so much fun. I learned a lot about myself, nature, and how to deal with others. Plus, every morning when I woke up I didn't see houses or garbage. I got to see the most incredible sights of mountains, caribou, eagles. It was GREAT!!!"

How has your adventure changed your outlook?
"My trip to Alaska has changed my outlook on life. I have learned that I don't need tons of things in my life to make me happy. Friends, family, food and water and I am a Happy Camper. I also know that I need to be outdoors, so I am looking into careers that will allow me to be involved in outdoor or environmental activities."

Advice for potential Adventure Scholarship applicants:
"I suggest that they be themselves, and have a great time."
