The Gene Doyle Memorial Foundation has identified three structured adventure programs that will be available to Collier County students. Students may apply through one of these programs, or may submit an adventure proposal of their own design. Structured adventures range in location, duration, cost and activity type. Applicants should review program listings and schedules and then select a specific program. Information about these organizations is also available in all Collier County high school guidance offices.
After reviewing applications and interviewing finalists, the Scholarship Committee will award up to $3,500 each to scholarship winners. This money will be applied directly to the adventure trips, including travel and supplies.
Self-Designed Program
Students who have long held a dream to adventure elsewhere in the country or world can submit an adventure plan of their own creation. A self-designed program is a good way for applicants to demonstrate their adventurous spirit. The scholarship committee encourages creativity and daring with a reminder to work out the logistics.
